Missed Lessons: We regret
that we cannot offer a future tuition credit for missed lessons,
due to the fact that our studio has grown; however, we will work
with you in a friendly Christian manner in order to re-schedule
a day for the purposes of make-up lessons. Please realize that we
may not always be able to accomodate students requests for make-up
lessons, due to the size of our studio roster.
Tardiness: The standard duration
for a lesson is 30 minutes. If a student cannot be on time for the
lesson, please notify Ms. Deedle (301 722-8275) or Ms. Linda (301
322-1645). The lesson will be given, based on the time that remains
in the 30 minute session.....the reason being, that our schedule
is very busy. Of course, we will continue to be diligent about our
own timeliness.
Playing by Ear: It is mandatory
that all students retain and use the music reading and notation
skills that are taught in the Studio. There is a difference between
"Playing by ear" and "ear Training".
Note: A person who "plays by ear" may or may not know how to
read music, but "ear training" in conjunction with leanrning how
to read musical notes and understanding musical concepts are the
goals of our program. "Playing by ear" (alone), is considered
a hindrance to developing musical reading skills.
Performance: The polish and
discipline associated with recital performance is a vital part of
the music students development. We have had pride in past recital
performances and plan to schedule one in the spring and one during
the Christmas season of each year. Our recitals are special events,
so we ask that each student provide the names of all their guests
that will attend each of the recitals.
Music: The Studio frequently
had panics music based on the unique personality and styule of a
specific student. If the student misplaces the music that has been
provided, the student is responsible for replacing that music. |
